As with any conservatory, you get what you pay for, however nowadays you can get pretty much any conservatory as a DIY conservatory. All styles are available from many manufacturers including Victorian conservatories, Edwardian conservatories and mediterranean (lean to) style conservatories. You can also get a DIY conservatory in either PVCU or Timber construction, or in PVCU with a wood effect finish.
Choosing a consrvatory is based around a number of factors, your own personal taste, the style of
house that you own and budget being the three most important factors.
If you have a pre-war house then really the Victorian and Edwardian styles are likely to go with the design of the house and will be in keeping with both the property and probably the area. for more modern properties then style is going to be less of an issue and budget and personal taste are likely to be more important.
The mediterranean style is likely to provide the cheapest option and PVCU is likely to be a cheaper option than a timber construction. Though nowadays you can get wood effect PVCU, which can provide the best of both worlds, the ease of maintenance and cost savings of the PVCU and aesthetics of the wooden finish.
